Please
below find a few bits of information to help begin the school year.
· School sunhats-
every student will be supplied with a named sun safe hat. These are to remain at school.
· Dudley park-
the students are able to go to Dudley Park at morning tea and lunchtime. They
are able to use their scooters and skateboards as long as they wear a helmet.
· Fruit/ drink
bottle- Can you please ensure your child has fruit for our ‘brain break’ and a
drink bottle that can be kept in class.
·
Interchange.
This will begin on Tuesday 29 January, for Maths and Reading, so the
students can get used to the routine of changing classes. Our team works collaboratively
to ensure we can work with smaller groups and can
target next steps learning for every student. We will scaffold this slowly and
ensure all the students feel safe and secure.
·
Monday 28 January- Upon arrival at school,
the students will find a named hook in the cloakbay to hang their bags and a named
tray in the classroom to put their pencil cases.
·
On the first day we will be sending home an
information sheet for parents/ caregivers to fill out to help us meet the needs
of your child, as well as one for your child to fill in with your help.
·
Stationery
Please find the list of books and what they will
be used for. We are not expecting you to cover them, but feel free if you wish
to. Please label with their name and subject. Could you please also ensure ALL the other items come to school.
They will be stored and handed out when needed. These do not need to be named.

SPORTS ORGANISATION for Term Four 2016.
Touch CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES 23 September - so enter your child before 16th September. For those interested in playing touch. Year 1-7. Played on a Wednesday night, in term 4 and term 1. COST: $30
Hockey For those interested in playing hockey on a Friday from 4-7pm for Year 3 & 4. Running for six weeks in term 4. Team spaces are limited therefore you will need to get your child‛s name and $30 to the office A.S.A.P.
Football For those interested in playing Twilight Football Years 1 -8 on a Monday night beginning on 31st October and running for 6 weeks. Kick-off times will be 3:45pm, 4:15pm, and 5:15pm. COST: $20
Swimming & Gym - Term 4
Air New Zealand & Wigram Airforce Museum Visit
S5, S7 and some children from S6 - Friday 5th JuneS6 and remainder of S6 - Tuesday 9th June
Please ensure children have covered in shoes as they will not be able to enter the Air NZ Hangar in sandals.
Term 2 - Lessons will be held on Wednesday and Fridays beginning 22 April.Swimming Lessons - will be held in Term 2 and Term 4
The cost is $2.50 per lesson for Term 2 ($20 for 8 lessons) & Term 4 is subsidised by SPARC so lessons are $1 (For Term 4 $8.00). Direct deposit to 030674 0092968-00 Surname & Swimming as reference.Term 2 - Lessons will be held on Wednesday and Fridays beginning 22 April.
Sports Spectacular - Thursday 26th March
The Rua team will be participating in the 'Rakahuri Sports Spectacular' at Southbrook Park from 10am - 2pm.
Parent helpers are required please to assist with supervision of groups and walking children to and from the park.
Please ensure children have sunblock, water, a nourishing lunch and a jacket in case it gets cold. It is essential children have sports shoes as they are walking to and from Southbrook Park and are participating in several sports activities.
