We are so proud of Kirrin with her kind act. She baked about 130 cupcakes and sold them to raise money to donate to the Salvation Army to help families at Xmas.
The Rua Team is an amazing group of Year 3 children at Rangiora Borough School. We are located in the S block by the quad. Conservation Week
S3 have been busy for the past 7 weeks working with Squawk Squad an organisation promoting sustainability and Kaitiakitanga. (Caring for our Environment) They were lucky enough in Week 5 to win a weeks work of chocolate for the video they presented. They all had a go at eating wraps made from cricket flour.
Art works
We are very proud of Emily and Darlea, whose art works were selected to be exhibited at the Kaiapoi Library alongside art works for the Waimakariri/Enshi Sister City Children's Art Exhibition called my 'Home' town. The student's chose Maukatere ( Mount Grey) and the Rakihuri River.

How Machines Help Us
We have been busy learning about Simple Machines and how they make our lives easier when we have 'work' to do. The students had fun trying to lift a 15 kg bag of sand using different types of pulleys.

Maths learning
In S5 for Maths we have been talking about the best way to record information quickly and accurately. Today we took our learning outside to see if King Street or Church Street would be the best place to cross the road. The students recorded the number of cars that passed them and found that Church Street has a lot less cars.

Discovery
As part of discovery we looked at algorithms - a set of instructions to do something, as preparation for beginning coding next week. The students had to look at a range of instructions on how to make a paper plane. They ordered them and then gave them to someone else to use to make a plane. Then we had a go at throwing them!!!

Discovery in S5
Today in Discovery we used our plans and created our sand saucers. The students brought in different foraged items and we had flowers, stones, shells, twigs and other things available for them to use. They built their creations and they look amazing!

Weetbix Tryathlon
We are very proud of Elliot. He competed in the Weetbix Tryathlon last weekend. We will be cheering for him in the future when he competes in the Olympic Games.
